"So Then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world. Hold firmly to the message of life. Then I can boast in the day of Christ that I didn't run or labor for nothing."
Philippians 2: 12 - 16
--We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. What does this mean? Well, first we can not understand what it means to fear and tremble before God if we have no clue who God is. Once we have the correct view of God then the reflection of God will cause our life and our very being to shatter. Once we are broken completely and our confidence in ourselves has dwindled to nothing, then, we are in the perfect position to understand what this passage of scripture means. With fear and trembling I will work out my own salvation. In this passage of scripture the greek translation for fear is phobos, which means to dread, terror, that which strikes terror. In this passage of scripture the greek translation for trembling is tromos, which means to describe the anxiety of one who distrusts his ability completely to meet all requirements, but religiously does his utmost to fulfill his duty. So, are we to fear God with terror? In the Old Testament we read scripture that describes the total destruction of tribes and villages because the people whom lived there had no fear of God. These people who lived in these villages we would describe as being, "beyond saving." These people were a lost people and were overcome by their wickedness, they were given to the desires of their flesh. After reading this passage I had to talk to my husband. With all honesty I want to please God and do His will. I do grow anxious because at times I feel like I am not doing all I can be doing for God. (Faith is not based on works but on Grace alone). My husband had to remind me that in scripture there are times when God explains things in order to get our attention, to fully explain to us the view that we should have of God. When in all reality we can not explain with words who God is, because He is indescribable. Because God is sovereign He has revealed through revelation given to men, what is written in scripture in order for His will to be accomplished. When we can truly understand the glory and majesty of God, and truly understand His Holiness and justice, grace and His mercy then we can truly obey Him through reverence and not fright. Work out which is the result of fear and trembling in the greek text is the word katergazomai. This word is a verb, therefore requiring action. If we understand the true view of God, resulting in our own distrust within ourselves to meet all requirements to be holy and blameless in His sight, but with utmost desire work to fulfill the duty given to us through Christ, then as a result - we attain salvation.

"Live for a Cause that is bigger then yourself"
This weekend I went to Fall Youth Event. At the event I learned about Emmanuel Jal, who was a child soldier in the Sudan. He was rescued by a British Aid worker named Emma. You may wander what your purpose in life is or question the meaning of life. There are two important rules to life that I learned about this weekend. 1) Build healthy relationships with others, 2) Live for a cause. The people surrounding us will mold us or will break us. Life is about helping others, serving others, and showing the love of Christ. Surround yourself with people that will help mold you and uplift you. Hang out with those that will make you a better person. "Live for a cause that is bigger then yourself." The second rule is to live for a cause. We all have different desires in life. We all have our needs and wants; and we all have certain goals that we want to achieve. Why would we want to live for a cause that is bigger then ourself??? I believe that God created us to be more then just mediocre (Average). God doesn't want us to have easy dreams and easy goals. He does not want us to be average, or just making it. God created us all to live with a purpose that is beyond our own selfish desires. Even when we are the bottom of the barrel God chooses the weak to put to shame the wise. He uses the weak to show His power and glory. Choose to have big dreams; choose to live a life serving a cause that is bigger then your own flesh and strength. See what the Lord will do when you put your Trust in Him. Emma has lived her life serving a cause that is more powerful and deadly then her own strength could carry her. It is amazing what Love can do. FREEDOM!!!

LIVE WITH PASSION - What is my inspiration for my title? Recently my uncle passed away. I was very close to my uncle. I wouldn't say that we spent a lot of time together but, we were close in the spirit. One big fear I have in life is not making a difference in this world. "When I die, what will show forth to others the truth of Jesus Christ, How can I make my life count?"My uncle inspired me to live my life with passion. He was a student of the Bible and had a passion for reaching others for Christ. What I remember most about his life is not our conversations about the Bible (although great) but, were my own personal observations and witness of his life in action. I remember his bible in their home was always filled with notes and a study notebook that he would be rigorously preparing for Church or personal growth. Seeing him live out his faith and witnessing the personal relationship that he and his wife had with Christ, has been life changing. I watched a movie last night that quoted from Ghandi, and stated,"You need to be the change that you want to see in the world." It is not mostly our preaching (although needed) that makes the biggest impact in someone's life. What matters most is what we do with our faith.
"Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:12 - 13
